About

In 2013, I bought the biggest brush I could find at Jerry's Artarama in Raleigh to paint myself a giant calendar on old pieces of tissue paper. My pal asked if I'd make some to sell at the Beehive Bazaar he ran back home in Utah. I hand-painted each month on colorful tissue from Manhattan's Paper Presentation and somehow laid them out to dry without the toddlers terrorizing.

The next year I relented painting each calendar by hand and found a local shop to print nice enlargments of my calendar artwork in a classic black on white. Fast forward to this year and I've got more shifts for the 2023 calendar.

Thanks to thoughtful printing partners, I'll can fulfill orders on demand, allowing me to offer 3 new versions of the Black Strokes Calendar—the BLEED, the CONFETTI! and the DESK edition! I've teamed up with my husband to sell design stuffs at DefuseBombs.com. See you there!
